Decorative & Faux Finishes

Houston, TX-based Cindy Howard and Dana DeBuck of Decorative & Faux Finishes create gorgeous spaces together with their team using several Golden Paintworks products. They recently paired a decadent duo, Metallic Textures and Mica flakes, to handtexture a unique entryway ceiling. The beautiful entryway was designed by Christie Gaia Designs. Cindy and Dana will be offering classes at their new studio featuring Golden Paintworks products and in particular, the ceiling finish in this project. They say, ‘Golden Paintworks’ vast line of products allows us to offer something beyond the standard decorative painting classes’. We are excited to feature this ceiling as our February 2020 Featured Finish.

What do you love most about this type of creative work?
Cindy and Dana: We love that people trust us to come into their homes to enhance their most valued space. Our job is never boring as we get to work in a variety of locations and create unique environments. We have the opportunity to meet so many new people, and by doing so, we have made many special connections and life long friendships.

What is your fave Golden Paintworks product?
Cindy: My favorite Golden Paintworks product has to be the Glazing Medium. Especially combined with the acrylic flows, they have the ability to make movement I haven’t experienced with any other glazes.
Dana: My favorite product is the Weathered Granite texture. Its extremely easy to work with and results in a natural stone effect. I love how I can control the aggregate activity with my trowel.
